iroc fuel pump relay
iroc fuel pump relay
Hey everyone, I'm a recent owner of an 87 iroc. A few days ago the car gave out. It'll crank over but won't stay running unless i keep my foot on the gas and even then it's rough. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump but i want to check the relay first. I know it's supposed to be on the driver side firewall, but it's not there. The previous owner did swap the motor with another 350. I was wondering if there is another common place where the relay could go? Before i take up the carpet and trace the wiring i figured someone might be able to save me some time. Thanks.
Re: iroc fuel pump relay
Welcome Aboard!
While it would be good to find the relay eventually, you can eliminate it as a problem by measuring the voltage to the fuel pump. That can be done at the wiring on the oil pressure switch as well as at the relay (wherever it is).
Aside from the voltage to the pump, it might be more informative to measure the fuel pressure.
