Brodix IK 180's

I'm in the market for some budget aluminum heads, been looking over E-streets & Brodix IK 180's...Does anyone have these Brodix heads? I looked at all the pics online and do not see a place for my temp & fan sending units? Not sure why they wouldn't put them in? E-streets show them...By the way, I'm workin' on a 350 for my 84 Z28, nothing crazy just good streetable power. Haven't picked cam yet, will depend on which heads I go with, using RPM intake, 600 Holley.

Re: Brodix IK 180's

I haven't used the IK heads personally, but I've heard good things about them power-wise on the internet.

I do have one friend running the E-Street Eddy heads, based on my recommendation to give them a try. They make good power, but more importantly for this person was that they TRULY BOLT ON AND WORK. Everything hooks up. That is Edelbrock's strong suit, and its importance shouldn't be underestimated by the home-gamer. It matters. So does quality and longevity. Also an Edelbrock strong suit.

True bolt on is important to me, I'm building this engine myself. That's why I'm staying away from the Ebay specials, I've heard to many people say you need to have them machined before running them. Looking like Edelbrocks so far, anyone else use one of these two?

Re: Brodix IK 180's

Me and my dad are running brodix IK heads. He has the 180's and I have the 200s

Great heads IMHO. They DO NOT have a coolant port on the sides of heads. No place for temp senders in them. We have always ran the temp sender in the intake so wasn't a big deal for me or my dad.

He bought his around 2007 IIRC, so not sure if they added a port since then but I wouldn't think so.

Re: Brodix IK 180's

Thanks for the reply, thats what I wanted to know...having one temp sender plus a switch for my fan I'm not sure where I'd put them both. Theres probably a way, just seems odd they don't put them in the head.

Re: Brodix IK 180's

Your welcome. From my understand of the IK heads they are bare bones budget "race" heads. So they built them thick, done what needed to be done for a good race head but didn't add in other little things like the sender ports.

Most intakes have 2 water ports, some has 3 or 4. You can buy water necks with a NPT port in them, etc so there is a few options on sender and fan switch placements
