Hood latch
Replacing the hood release cable on my firebird. The current one is not stock. It was broken and previous owner put a generic cable and tied it around the latch.
All the junkyard cars are missing a cable so can someone tell me how the original cable bead fits into the hood latch?
It looks easy enough to do

Re: Hood latch
I don't recall why I had this photo, but maybe this will help.

The cable bead doesn't actually clip onto the latch. It's just there to act as a stop so the latch mechanism can lever.
The clip where the cable fits into is shaped like a "G" on its back as you look at it from above. You just push the cable down through the opening. Once you bottom the cable on the clip, push the cable toward the front of the car and hook it under the "leg."
It's easier to do than to describe. You'll see how to do it once you look at it.
