Fuel line question

Had to replace the fuel pump in my 91 RS V6, previous owner made an access hole. Poorly. I cleaned up the edges and made a nice cover, but the lines were cut with what I can only guess to be an alligator. They were then reconnected with fuel injection hose (printed on the hose) and 4 worm clamps per line.

I can't undo the line cutting, and I can't currently afford to replace the sending unit to fix the lines. Is there an easy clean option to reconnect the hoses without spending a huge sum of money? I considered double flaring and using steel brake line, but I'm not sure if our fuel lines would hold a flare, and that's only if I had the miracle of room to work a flare tool.

If anyone has performed a similar repair, I'd love to see some pictures.

If you can get a clean cut you can use a hard tube to -AN fitting.

AN to Tube Adapter Fittings

Here is a link to what i did on my carb fuel lines. I have an in-tank electric pump going to a regulator and then the carb. The two lines on the bottom in the picture use the hard tubes. I cut off the nipple ends for a clean cut and installed the tube adaptors which are basically compression fittings that seal to the hard line.

Re: Fuel line question

Single flare with sleeve and tube nut is all that is needed for fuel system.

Or hardware store brass compression fittings

Or flare to AN fittings

Or just leave it... GM did the same thing under the car... The factory steel hard lines are "broke" and rubber line connects them back together
