160,000 mile o2 sensor

how much is performance hindered with say an o2 senser w 160,000 miles on it. It looks like a PITA to change it and was wondering if it was worth the hassle

It's not a PITA change. It's pretty easy. Just jack up you car, go under there with a wrench or a O2 socket take it out and put the new one in, done.
