I've had my 92 camaro rs for 14 years and with regular maintenance I've never had a issue. Two days ago while going about 40 mph she just shut down. All the electronics still worked just nothing from the engine. I coasted to a side road popped the hood and everything still looked in place. She started right back up. She has done this every day since and I can't drive her now because I feel like it's getting dangerous. I replace the plugs, wires, cap, and router. Still the same problem. Fuel pump primes up and my idle is fine it just seems like something is just shutting the engine down. Has anyone come across this issue or have any suggestions on what to target next? V8 305 w/ 115,000 miles

 

Have your ignition control module ICM checked at autostore if it already hasn't been replaced.

Someone had this issue I knew before and it had something to do with a fuel issue, think it was like it thought it needed fuel when it was already taking in the correct amount and flooded itself causing it to kill out.

 

Fuel Filter? If it's definitely spark start with ICM under the distributor cap first.... If that isn't it, start looking at the ECM under the passenger side dash.

Couldn't find a place to check it, but I think that's where I'm going to start. I've read some other threads that suggest that as well.

 

Took both of mine to Autozone. One was bad, the other not.
