Pushrod length help

Sorry for the crappy pics and crappy witness marks.

I need help deciding which wear pattern would be the best for my setup. I've read that it needs to be on the center of the valve and some say its the narrowest pattern that's closest to the center of the valve.

Do any of the above patterns look good? Seems like no matter where the wear marks are, it's the same width.

Re: Pushrod length help

I am about to do this on my new motor as well, and from all the reading (but no practical experience) I'd say that first one at 7.350 looks good. Narrow, AND in the middle. Again, lots of reading, but never done it.

That's what i was thinking as well. I did make the mistake of not measuring it correctly the first time and paid 100 bucks for some 7.250 push rods i cant use.

Re: Pushrod length help

I've done it a few times your good with 7.350 and your right the smallest wear pattern in the center is what you want. You don't want a wear pattern over .080 if you can't achieve that with pushrod length then you would have to change your rockers to a different brand
