Re: Mileage
Not quite sure I understand the question, but neaither one of those shows all 7 digits, so no telling how many times it has "rolled" over.
1st one....044595 That reads as 4,459.5 miles. Notice the 0. That 1st 0 will change from 0-9, once mileage reaches 99,999.9 miles it will reset to all 0 and start counting up again.
Any time I see a car like this and no paper work to prove mileage I count it at least as 100,000 or 200,000 plus what ever is shown
Second one..... 799538 is 79,953.8 miles but again same goes as above, when it reaches all 9's it resets to 0 and starts over again. So could have 79,953 or 179,953 or 279,953 or even 379,953 miles

Re: Mileage
That was a huge complaint from customers to GM through the 80's. Odometers not displaying enough digits. 5 digits is not enough for an odometer. The 10ths digit doesn't count. Third gen vehicles were not the only ones with a 5 digit odometer.
I have no idea but the ECM may have total mileage stored in it. They do on diesel trucks. Not sure about production cars.
