Re: Horsepower RPM Peak: Opinions

Well this turned out to be a really good thread for those building a 350" for the street and drag racing. Greg had some really good results/info to share. It shows that while simulation software is helpful and trends changes it is only as good as the programmer and his experience. Once running and racing the combo will tell u the story and hopefully where to go.

Good luck Skinney and let us know how it works. Thx for sharing everyone.

Be sure to check PTV clearance if you decide to experiment with 8 deg advance.

I'll be sure to post up with results. That's gong to be a while though. New job. New work schedule that takes me out of town for 3 weeks every month. I think it'll be a couple of months before I'm up and running again. I tore more than the engine apart over the winter and have a lot to reassemble.

Absolutely. It's something I'll check in that position whether I decide to go that advanced or not. I've got a timing chain/cover set-up that'll let me change the cam timing without dropping the pan so to know the clearances will be handy if I want make a change mid-season.
