Is your engine stock?
Is the original wiring still intact?
Still running the ECM?
Is your CEL on?
Fuel injection or carburetor?
Does this happen only when the engine is cold?
Does it happen only when the engine is warmed up?
Does it happen all the time?

When I had that problem it was my TPS. could also be your IAC, or any other number of things. Answer those questions Paulo57509 asked so we can narrow it down.

Agreed, especially if you do have fuel injected. As the gents above hinted, check your CEL ("check engine light", or some members refer to it as SES, service engine soon). When it stalls, the CEL trips, saving the code for the malfunction. Then check your OBD-1 port (On Board Diagnostics), which you can find how to check through other forums here, or message me if you need help.
Once you do this, it will give a code and you can then narrow down a possible issue.
Get back with details from Pablo as he nailed the beginning questions.
I'm assuming you have the car with ECM, and know you can check that first from I'm this response and we can really get you some fast help. Been there,
best of luck for you on your sitch
