Looking for a Head Gasket Recommendation
Okay: There's bound to be a differing of opinions regarding my parts choice, but for not much over $1,000. You might find it difficult to find much fault with the following performance modifications to my 85 Z28 (9.5:1 cr) 5 Speed
Aerohead Racing 58cc GM heads, stainless steel 1.94/1.50 valves, screw in studs, bowls blended, 3 angle vale job, bronze valve guides, .525 lift compatible valve springs, and gasket matched $650
Local package deal all parts NIB; Summit Cam SUM 1103 .444/.465 214/224 @ .050 112 lsa, lifters, Comp Cams stock length push rods, 1.5 roller lifers, single roller timing chain, guide plates, and 2 piece timing chain cover $250 .........again all parts are new!
The cam just happens to be the exact same utilizedby Super Chevy in their 305 el Camino that spit out a 165 rwhp increase with an excellent pair of heads, exhaust, and intake/carb.
I am looking for thin yet reliable head gaskets to try to increase my cr. Please note that these are iron heads. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
Then there's the expense of the remaining gaskets, break-in oil, filters, sealents, etc.....approximately $200
I seriously doubt that my combination will get anywheres close to Super Chevy's results, but for not much over $1000 it should make for noticeable increase in performance.

Re: Looking for a Head Gasket Recommendation
Are those heads actually World Products 305 castings? If so, they require a 4" bore head gasket. If you use a 305 gasket with those, it will hang into the combustion chambers.
I used Victor Reinz Nitroseal #5746 head gaskets on my 302 SBC.
4.100 .026 thick (or is it .028?) 5.4 cc
installed DRY with number side UP
both sides graphite coated over perforated steel core
and stainless steel combustion flanges
good for N/A and up to 12 to 1 compression ratio
will not indent aluminum heads
I think that Summit 1142-026 gasket is the same.
