Advice for upcoming rebuild
Hey guys how's it going. starting to piece together a parts list for a rebuild I'm planning on having done. starting with an L98 350tpi.has some mild mods, as&m intake runners, headers, ported intake base and plenum to match. the heads on the car are not the correct original L98 heads, probably swapped years ago. I'm planning to swap them to a set of 64cc iron vortec heads and the proper intake manifold.
so my plan is to build a 383 stroker using a 400 crank and bored .030 over.
this is a street car/toy. it's not my daily, and it's not a race car.
so a few questions.
what would be the highest compression ratio I can run on pump gas. (93 octane) I would need to know so I can decide which pistons I should get for my application.
was looking at an eagle rotating assembly that included 12cc dish piston heads. according to their website those pistons in combo with 64cc heads would be a compression ratio of 9.8:1.
Cam suggestions?
should I use larger injectors? ( I'm guessing yes)
I'm aware I will have to have a chip burned in order for the computer to function properly.
this is my first time sourcing parts like this so any advice or suggestions are appreciated

Sounds like a plan to me. You can go a little over 10:1 CR safely on 93, but 9.8:1 is pretty safe. Since you're looking for something fun rather than something to race, that should be fine.
Since you plan on going to Vortec style heads, I would tend toward a set of aftermarket aluminum (even GM Fastburns) instead of cast iron.
You can get cam recommendations that are all over the place, from factory cams like LT1 or LT4 Hot Cam, to your off-the-shelf grinds from Comp, Lunati, Crane, Howards, etc. But the best bet is to call the cam houses directly, tell them what you have, what you're building, and what you want to get out of it, and have them recommend something. I've never heard of anyone who complained when they did that with Bullet.
You should use larger injectors, as you assumed.
You didn't mention exhaust. What do you have, or what do you have planned for exhaust?

The car already has headers, suposed to have duel cats but they were removed before i bought the car. will proably just find a set of headers to go with the heads.
besides weight is there a difference in performace between cast iron and aluminum heads.
hate to ask this but im going to.
with the right cam, vortec heads, the compression ratio around 9.8:1 injectors, and a proper tune and the current mods already done. what kind of power would a 383 make?

Generally speaking, there isn't as much effort put into the design of cast iron heads. That's really the difference. With the same port size & shape, and same chamber design, iron and aluminum will make roughly the same power. Of course, less weight means better HP/weight, but 50 pounds isn't a big jump in a 3500 lb car.
Even with the aftermarket runners, TPI will still be the limiting factor. But, with proper cam selection, you shouldn't have any trouble topping 400 at the crank. Keep the cam upper power band around 5500, and you'll have a nice butt-dyno machine.
