Really need some help on engine problem...
Recently, I removed an aftermarket alarm system out of my bird.
It was making the battery empty in a week or 2, so I must charge it constantly....
I replaced it with a simple remote door lock system (keyless entry if you want..)
Since then I have some (for me) unexplainable problems...
While driving, the SES light lits up, and the engine stops for half a second or so...
When the SES lights keep on burning, after a second the engine picks up again, but doesn't run good.
Most of the time, it just goes out after a half of a second like nothings happened...
When the SES light lits up, the speedometer goes down. All the other gauges keep on working.
Today, puts the car on the car lifter, and wiggles the fusible wires at the starter motor while the engine runs. The wiggling seems to have no effect on the behaviour of the engine...
anyone who haves a similar problem in the past?
grtz, D

There is sam power is next to the battery a 20amp fuse. The other power wires are at the fuse box and run through c201.

Re: Really need some help on engine problem...
Thanks mate...
Will be for tomorrow (it's past midnight over here)
Noticed I have no power windows also...
Power drops more than 2 volts (mearured at the cigarete lighter) when I pushed the buttons.... , and hear a buzzing sound....
Guess I have to check it completely tomorrow.....

PS: forgot to mention: even thow the SES light comes on, I have no fault codes.....

Re: Really need some help on engine problem...
Seems like it is solved.....
I was working on removing the rest of the alarm system (seems to be the clue of the power windows problem) leaving the ACC on.
Every now and then, the SES light was going out, and every time I was hearing a ticking in the engine bay..
Was the Solenoid of the vapor canister that ticks....
Anyway... the cables and the laptop are taking to much space in the passengers seat, space that I needed to work. (hardware from Moates)
So I put the chip back in the ECM, and removed de autoprom connection.
When I turn the ACC back on, No SES light blinking and no ticking...
So I started to think the autoprom was the problem....
I reconnected it, but the problem stays away...
conclusion: it is solved, but I don't know what caused the problem, nor what fixed it...
Don't like it that way....
