Unknown sensor?

Hey guys,

Dropped a 350 (originally out of an 85' K10) into my 85' Trans Am. On its way in, I accidentally bumped a sensor back by the distributor and its threads broke off (it was pretty old and fragile) and remained in the engine. The sensor is just a small canister with a single lead going to it. What did I break?

Re: Unknown sensor?

Sounds like maybe an oil pressure sender or switch. If you post a photo it'd be easier to ID.

Re: Unknown sensor?

Unfortunately I'm back at school and can't send a picture. But thank you for the help, guess I'll have to get the threaded part out somehow.

Re: Unknown sensor?

Sounds like the oil pressure sender to me. Your gonna want to fix that or you will have a massive pressurized oil leak dumping gallons per minute.
