1982 Chevy 305 v-belt to 1989 Camaro serpenteen

Just purchased a 19989 Camaro with frozen TBI injected 305. I have a 1982 Trans am 305 I plan on replacing the shot 89 engine with but would like to use the serpentine components on the older 305.

There is a bolt holding one of the accessory brackets to a head that cannot be used due to no hole in the head.

If you use all proper brackets (driver side from alt to exhaust, passenger side from a compressor bolt to exhaust, that should be fine.

You will have to extend alternator wiring, and use an 89-compatible water pump.

You can easily drill and tap the required hole. Use sealant on the threads though as it will be open to a coolant jacket. Takes only a few minutes and can easily be done in the car.

Thanks for the information, saves me a lot of time doing research. Was curious about the location (passenger or drivers side) where the additional hole has to be drilled.

Passenger cylinder head is where the hole needs to be added.
