87 Camaro 305ci TPI Won't Start
Hi,
I've heard and read a lot of different explanations as to why it won't start, from O2 sensor, to keyed ignition, to IAC, and just buying a $500 EBL-P4. It ran fine until twice while I was driving it just quit and died. The first time it started again after waiting 10 minutes. The second time it started again the next day. This time it turns over, appears to momentarily start then immediately dies. I'm no mechanic, and this car is new to me, so it's very difficult for me to diagnose this issue especially since it's pre-OBD2, so any help is super appreciated.

Check for fuel pressure. There is a shrader valve on the fuel rail.
O2 sensor doesn't come into play when cold. Computer ignores it for startup and for minutes afterward.
IAC can be bypassed if you open the throttle manually with the accelerator pedal. So can also be ruled out.
Since it tries to start we can assume it at least has some spark in it. Which rules out ignition. And since it did run intermittently we can pretty safely rule out timing. At least to start with.
That pretty much leaves fuel. Being it's 30 years old it may need a fuel pump.
