oil pressure gauge stays maxed out

Axle/Gears: stock
oil pressure gauge stays maxed out
Goes all the way over after starting. Returns ot zero when turned off
Sending unit ??

Sending unit wire is unplugged
Short = 0 on the gauge (same discipline as an idiot light)
Plug the wire back in, most likely won't need the VOM.

it may be the sending unit too.. pretty cheap to buy new. i had to replace mine last year when the oil pressure guage was all the way to the right.
