5.0 or 5.7

I'm wondering what the block number behind the driver head should say if the engine is a 5.7? I was told the original owner swapped a 350 but looks like it says GM 5.0LG

Re: 5.0 or 5.7

Did you get the casting number from the other side of the engine?

I believe the last 3 digits of the casting number are also on the side of the block.

Not sure I've gotten reliable info on that 5.0/5.7 thing, but the casting number is a clear discriminator.

Is it in the same spot on the other side? I'll take a look tomorrow on the side

Re: 5.0 or 5.7

Says 5.0LG in the first picture, 5.7 would be stamped 5.7LG

Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: 5.0 or 5.7

There's not alottä ambiguity between a 0 and a 7.

Looks like a 305 to me.
