Transmission: 700R4
5.0 or 5.7
I'm wondering what the block number behind the driver head should say if the engine is a 5.7? I was told the original owner swapped a 350 but looks like it says GM 5.0LG

Did you get the casting number from the other side of the engine?
I believe the last 3 digits of the casting number are also on the side of the block.
Not sure I've gotten reliable info on that 5.0/5.7 thing, but the casting number is a clear discriminator.

Says 5.0LG in the first picture, 5.7 would be stamped 5.7LG
