MAP sensor fail or not?

Hello friends, I wanted to ask you for help to see if the same thing happened to me. And sorry for my google english XD

I have a pontiac firebird V6 3.1 of 90.
The other day circulating without warning or reason the engine stopped.

After some tests the engine is not able to turn on, I will try to attach a video although I speak in Spanish can see that is what happens.

video:

We changed the MAP sensor and checked the voltages and cables to the cpu. Everything is ok

It seems strange that the control unit can be broken without more, we have opened it and you do not see any damaged components.

Can there be another sensor that, when failing, can cause the motor to do this?

thanks all in advanced for your help!!

Re: MAP sensor fail or not?

Have you checked for spark (igition)? Often sudden failures are ignition related.

If the ECM were bad it would most likely be intermittent and would work till it heats up, or would work if you flex the board, etc.

Start with the basics - Spark, Fuel, and Air. Beyond that - proper valve and ignition timing.

Re: MAP sensor fail or not?

The thing is, keeping the key at the point of starting the engine and keeping it. Putting the shift lever in position D, the car starts and is stable. It stays on but I can not get past 2000rpm. If I release the key it stops.

This is because at the start of that way the cpu receives the command to start ignoring the signal of the sensors, when you release the key must switch to the mode of keeping the ignition based on the sensors, and that's when it stops.

As it is able to start in this way, we discard a mechanical fault and we think it is electric.
