82 crossfire running lean condition

I recently upgraded my 82 crossfire corvette with the following items: Renegade Intake manifold, World products cylinder heads, A very mild comp cam, High flow cat and flow master mufflers with21/2 pipes. Running lean condition after all parts installed. Went to a hypertch thermomaster chip with no change. I am now thinking I need to upgrade the injectors but are there any injectors out there in the 70 + pound range that can be used? Or any other suggestions?

Try a Corvette board for better response. You made the engine want more fuel but you aren't giving it any more. Suppose that's causing a lean condition. I'd fix that if I were you

Re: 82 crossfire running lean condition

I have placed on corvette boards as well, but its the same crossfire injection system that 82 -84 Camaros used so the more opinions the better. Main questions since it was a very limited run for the crossfire does anybody know of any injectors that will give me better than stock performance ? Thank you

Check for vacuum leaks, up by drivers firewall check vac hoses closely. All so if head lamp doors are vary slow to open, again check for vacuum leaks. Check upper and lower intakes for leaks also. The 02 sensor is so far away from exhaust manifolds, check out readings. Usually they go rich because exhaust cools to much before 02 reads it.

Hi, this is Tom from DCS. Thanks for purchasing our manifold, but I think you have created the issue you are having now. How lean is lean? I take it this is at WOT and what are you using to measure this condition?

The manifold will let the motor breath a lot more for sure, but what size heads (runner) are we talking about and exactly what cam? Headers? Are you using a stock ECM? What fuel pressure are you now running with the stock injectors? There is a lot more to know about what you did in the way of mods before anyone can really give you a good answer.

Re: 82 crossfire running lean condition

Tom, thanks for the reply, I'll dig up the exact information on the cam and cylinder heads, I believe the cam is about .425 and 180deg. I am using stock exhaust manifolds, stock fuel pump, stock injectors. I put a hypertech thermomaster chip in it. Is the horsepowerconnection link a way to get in contact with you for additional info ?

Excellent! Post up all your specs and we'll see if we can help you out. No, HP Connection is where I do all my tuning on the dyno. The guy that owns the shop also teaches for EFI University where I went to tuning school in CA. They are now both in Lake Havasu, AZ. I have to trailer the car out there each time, but it's definitely worth it. I was hopeing to catch some of the guys from Street Outlaws while there since about half of those guys took their cars there and had a lot of work done there, especially Doc. EFI University completely modified his engine for twin EFI's and tune. Doc just can't hook the car up now. I'll send you a PM/Email.
