battery, battery cable, battery cable ends, dirty terminals - eliminate that easy stuff first
if your battery has dropped a cell or 2 it probably wont start no matter how much jumping you do.

Car is not getting enough power to start, as zed said -- could just be a bad connection between the two cars. I always put the negative cable on one of the strut tower bolts of the dead car when jumping off if I can, seems to be a good ground there.
Whoops, just noticed this is for a 4th gen -- no strut tower bolts to ground on. There isn't a great ground spot like that for 4th gens, but they do have a better place to attach the positive cable -- there should be a bolt on the nearby fusebox marked POS+ for that.
