Blowing lines.

I got that 92 from my cousin and started fixing her up. So far if done an oil change, along with all the tune up stuff. And Ive replaced all the vacuum lines since they were dry rotted and torn.

One day while letting the car idle this weird thumping noise came outta no where coming from passenger side of the TB when I let off the gas. I found this rubber tube had come off on a test ride I had went on. Put it back on and the noise went away so I went out for another rip.

I really got on it, did a hard pull and a pathetic half donut (need to get rid of the 2.73's....) Got back to the house and it was off again. I dont remember seeing a clamp there. Should there be one? Or am I building too much pressure somewhere?

What exactly am I looking at? I believe its for the A.i.r./smog system?

I also noticed it had blown the vacuum line off the cruise control "unit. Not sure if related or it wasnt on good enough juat thought I'd add.

Re: Blowing lines.

Yeah, its part of your AIR Smog Diverter Valve. Years ago, some had little plastic clamps to hold it on. Just put a clamp on it.

The cruise line....might just not been on good enough.

Re: Blowing lines.

The can at the bottom is the muffler for the AIR vent. Might want to inspect the muffler to see if it's blocked. Clamping the hose won't fix anything, because it shouldn't be under enough pressure to need a clamp.

Of course, after 25 years, it probably just slips on and off now.

I was gonna mention about being blocked, sometimers kicking in!
