Building a 350
So I have picked up a few blocks. And I have one that is a vortec. Good heads. what I am stuck on is the the intake. They are pricey. And going vortec I would be stuck that way. I have been looking at the Edelbrock and stealth ram.
Also I need to make a choice on a cam. I have been looking at the voodoo line. The rollers are pricey but I do have the stock stuff. I know that there are limits but I don't know what I am looking at on some of the stuff. I'm an import guy. Also I plan to boost later down the road. So I need to stay efi. What do you guys recommend? Thanks

Step one separate roller from non roller blocks.
Step two toss out non roller or sell them to someone who wants to "keep it old school"
Now that you have that finished what are your goals. Vortec heads will make 400HP NA with some spring work and a decent cam. Otherwise use the block and bolt any heads you want onto it.
What heads do you have? What is your budget?
Any heads you reuse get them check for cracks and cleaned up at a local shop. Probably should bring the block while you are at it.
You may also want to look into an alternative EFI like fast or sniper and price that vs aftermarket TPI.
As for the cam comp cams XFI is a great line of roller cams to stay EFI

Re: Building a 350
One of the blocks is old school. One is a 90's third gen. And the vortec. So one two piece and two one piece. The heads are the stock 350 and I have the vortec heads.
Price does have a factor to a certain extent. But I dont want to cheap out. I have not paid a whole lot for what I have so far. Like the vortec was 60 on a stand, it came with some spun rods, but I picked up a good crank for 40.
The thing is that if I have the studs done seats and guides I'll be stuck with those heads for some time do to the Intake. I have thought about the elbow idea on the intake. It still puts me around the range of a good intake. Intakes I'm looking at are 'Brock pro flo xt and stealth ram.
