belt tensioner disintergrated
Hi all, Changing the drive belt today and the belt tensioner blew into 6 seperate pieces. Not a good look. Firstly, are they repairable,if so how? or is there a viable straight swap alternative that anyone knows about? I can't find a complete unit on ebay either. (im uk based by the way),Thanks

Re: belt tensioner disintergrated
Replace it. I change many of them on the diesel trucks that I work on. Ribbed pulley versions are harder to detect when they're failing. Smooth pulley versions are easy. As soon as you see the belt riding on the edge of the pulley, the tension needs to be replaced.
I've also replaced a lot that have failed. Takes out the belt and occasionally some wiring.
