I am interested in buying a chevy z28 with codes 32 and 34 present. Is this a costly fix at a shop?

I would suggest you do a search for codes 32 and 34. They aren't codes I would pa anyone to fix. I would do them myself.

i had a code 34, chased for a while, replaced parts, finally took to shop, cost me about 800 CDN........that was with labour charges, a new MAF power relay and a new MAF.......both of which were replaced before going to the shop, guess there parts were better than mine

32 could be the egr temp switch, you can only source one through corvette central iirc.

My car flags a 32 all the time. The only thing I haven't swapped out is the EGR solenoid, I have swapped out the EGR valve and the EGR temp switch. My car doesn't have a catalytic convertor in it either, and I think it may need the back pressure from that to work properly also. Car doesn't run any different except for the light coming on.

I just got a 34 yesterday, and my book says MAF. It came up as I left for work. I got it back into the parking lot and it started working again. I got it home and plan on looking into it this weekend to see if any of the wires are chafing. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

Sounds like MAF sensor. The 34, anyway. I have had the SES light on now and then for MAF sensor (code 33 and 34 I think) in my 88. I got a brand new MAF sensor which fixed the problem for a few years, but it came back. I didn't do anything since the car ran the same anyway and it still passes inspection. Interestingly, when I put a new battery in, the SES light comes on a lot less often now. Maybe the new battery is burning off the sensor wire better than the old battery was. (The battery heats up a small thin wire in the MAF to "burn off" the contaminants, before you start the car. Your problem might just be some minor corrosion at electrical connections to the MAF itself or the MAF burnoff relay (which is on the firewall).
