AC Delco CTS -- Which one??

On Rockauto, there are 3 different AC Delco coolant temp SENSORs listed. I've been doing my research but still can't figure out which one I need. 1989 305 TBI.

1551107
213928 (Need to change the connector I think?)
2134396

Thanks!

On the engine:

One is for the radiator fan
Another is for the dash gauge
The last being for the ECM

A CTS is typically for the ECM (going by the name). Which is a 2-wire connector.

The other two are a single wire connector, but each with a different connector.

The three you listed above all appear to be a CTS.

Hi,

I know it has a sender for the gauge and a switch for the fan. The question is why do I have 3 options for a CTS? Thanks

Who knows, it may be nothing more then superseded part numbers. Such as the difference between the 1227165 and 16198259 ECMs. Same exact ECM, just a different part number.

Although in the case of the 3 CTS's, two of them are shown with sealant already on the threads.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Just want to be 100% sure.

Anyone else?

Re: AC Delco CTS -- Which one??

They don't differentiate between a 305 TBI and 305 TPI. Also they group all of the temp senders and switches together. Also ACDelco usually carries a generic line and an Original Equipment line. Seems like the "Professional" listing is generally the generic replacement.

Best bet would be to look up the sensor you need in a more specific catalog. Not the easiest website to deal with, but ACDelco has an online catalog that might point you in the right direction. Or look up the sensor you need in the Parts and Illustrations catalog and cross it over to the current replacement, if there is one...

Hey Drew, I checked the website as well.

The OE and Professional both list the 213-928 so I'll just go with that one.

Thank you!
