idles fine but sputters and dies when I step on accelerator
2002 mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 idles fine but sputters and dies when I step on accelerator. I changed plugs and wires thinking that may do it, but still the same. What to check next?

Transmission: 700R4 3000 stall.
Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt Torsen 3.70

You need to check..... if someone accidentally replaced your car with a Chevy Camaro or Pontiac Firebird.... because assuming they didn't, your asking the wrong people. We deal with 82 to 92 Third Gen GM F body cars only here.
