So theres a few threads on getting these things out. But so far ive been unable to find anything for reinstall. Do they need to be resin sealed again or can they be converted to c clips?

If you're talking about universal joints, then yes you are correct, you use clips. They come with the new u-joints.

It's not difficult to do. Just make sure you're well protected. These things will spit and pop sometimes, shooting out molten plastic. It hurts enough getting it on your hands\arms. You don't want it to splatter across your face or in your eyes.

Re: Stupid resin uni's
Does anyone whos changed one have a part number for these joints. Im getting conflicting info on joint size/length, whether the 2 caps are different sizes etc.
2 different summit guys have given 2 separate sets of information and its confusing the hell out of me. Normally i would take them off but i have to order them from the states and i need the car. Any info would be appreciated

Can anyone confirm nor deny the presence of 2 different sized bearing caps on a nylon resin universal joint?

I bought Moog joints from the local Advance Auto. Unfortunately I don't have the boxes any longer.

3R (a.k.a. S40) caps are grooved so inside the yoke is where the square cut retaining rings sit.
1310, 1330, and 1350 use the pac-man style rings in grooves cut into the yoke, and retain the outside of the cap.
That's 4 size-styles. Jot down dimensions from the first two, ago measure, and you'll have your question answered as to whether it's one, the other, or a 2-sizes conversion joint.

Finally got these on - thanks for the assistance everyone
God they were messy. I definitely recommend eye protection and even a set of welding gloves. I got hit by an exploding ball of nylon slag even though i had it facing away and the gloves saved my arms.
Anyone who is planning to do this one, get a press, it makes it so much easier to push in and out.
