Car Dies Randomly while Driving Need Help ASAP

I have a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am with the 305 HO engine and the engine cut out while driving. The weird thing is that I drove for about 45 minutes and on my way back I traveled a ways and died a couple of times and then stayed dead. All of the gauges were showing regular readings and I still had 1/2 a tank of gas in the car. The temporary solution to the problem was to put ice on the fuel line near the carburator and it would start up and run for awhile and died again.
--Things I have done to the car:
-Rebuilt Carburetor
-Replaced Vacuum Lines
-New Fuel Filter
-New Battery
-Other stuff that I can't recall (purchased many things for it recently)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you by chance fill it up? Our 84 Camaro had a broken fill line at the electric in tank pump (which also did not work) so only the top half of tank was able to be accessed.

It is a early 84 and doesn't have a electric fuel pump, but my metal fuel line that goes into the carburator is slightly pinched
