RIGHT PLACE TO POST? ROBERT YATES...
If this isn't the right place to post, please feel free to move. So by now I assume everybody has heard about the death of Robert Yates. Although most of us are probably diehard Chevy guys, I know there's a few mustang folks here, lol. Anyway, talk about an auto racing legend! I knew he was a smart guy, but never knew how smart till today! Back in 2011 Dave Moody interviewed him for the NASCAR channel on Sirius XM. Listened to the entire 2 hours of it tonight. What an awesome, down to earth guy! A true loss to the racing community. I had forgotten he designed a set of cylinder heads back in the 90's that even the engineers in Dearborn couldn't do. It's a shame he never wrote a book about his life. So many amazing stories that I'm sure most of us could listen to for hours. Hearing him talk about Smokey Yunich was just cool. The saddest thing I heard today about him? None of his 8 grandchildren are involved in any kind of motorsports! What a freaking shame! What kid wouldn't want to be a part of his legacy? Rest in peace Robert

I listened as well. Definitely a loss to the NASCAR community. He was a true genius mechanic and innovator.
