oil breathers..
running a 400 with vortecs,,going great,,
13.2@ 107mph on street tires..
i can smell oil at the end of the strip.
my valve covers are GM performance factory covers,,there is a pcv into the carb base plate,, and an oil filler cap thats sealed as its got a rubber base that pushes in and thats it,,,,there are no provissions on the other valve cover to slip in a breather.
ZERO oil leaks,,, and the good ol 400 is a good build and runs 70lbs oil pressure all night at the strip.
whats the smell of oil only at the end of the strip..

Re: oil breathers..
A pcv system won't function properly without a breather on the opposite side. . . . you need to swap the oil filler cap for a breather.
If you're smelling oil it's either burning it or it's blowing it out somewhere due to lack of proper ventilation. maybe around the valve cover gaskets?
