1986 5.0tpi non start, no check engine light
Driving my 1986 5.0tpi today and the speedo stopped working and cut out when stopped, restarted and now sometimes stalls when coming to a stop, any ideas? Code 24 (vehicle speed sensor) flashing on check light, Other instruments are ok, drives ok but idle can be a bit funny, tried starting again earlier but wouldn't fire, no engine check light, turn heater fan switch and it came back on...... Any ideas?

If this is the correct sensor (gm# 25007308) for a 1986, it's behind the gauge cluster for the speedometer. http://www.rockauto.com/info/903/5S4638__ra_p.jpg At rockauto.com. I'm not totally sure what this sensor might affect, you may have other electrical problems also.
