What engine to get?

I want to keep my 700r4/3.73 rearend, but what to replace my 305 tpi 91 z28 with something that can be used in its place such as a 350 (unsure where is best to purchase from online) or another engine that i could retain the tpi setup or similar. The car is a daily driven camaro that I'd like to make fun to drive with a new engine and rebuilt tranny. Thank you for any insight!

Re: What engine to get?

not 100% sure about the tpi systems or how to disable it, roller vortec 350 all day long. I have one in front of my 200-4r. Fantastic motors.. after 200k miles sometimes u still see hone marks on cylinders.

I pulled one for $150 at yard, new bearings/rings/hone job. Cleaned lifter bores - dropped in new cam, headers/intake -

350-400hp easy and dirt dirt cheap.

problem with tpi is its kind of a fixed system.. limited cam choice, terrible heads.. i would bypass it at all costs and throw on a non elec quadrajet!
