hey guys i have a 82 camaro with a sbc 350 with a edelbrock Eps intake and a 1406 edelbrock carb it has a duralast hei distributor and acdelco spark plugs and a k12-600-4 cam and a th350 transmission and soon to install 3.73 gears but the car is hesitand and lags while taking off and feels good only in 2-3 gear any help available is greatly apriciated

 

What gears are in it now? Stock 2.93s or 3.23s? What jets are in the carb? Where is your timing at? How fast does it come in? When is it all in? Are you still running the stock LG4/LU5 exhaust? There is an honest second to be dropped by ditching the stock LG4/LU5 exhaust and going to headers/y-pipe and a full single 3”. Gonna need more info

 

Too much cam for what I am assuming is a relatively stock smog 350, especially with a converter with less than 3,000 rpm stall speed! Dynamic compression ratio will be stupid low which kills the low-end torque and your takeoff. I would pull the cam and put something like a 12-234-2 into it.

 

The gears i have now is the stock 2.73 gears ans i have stock headers and stock exhaust system the only thing is has is a 40 series flowmaster and a 3,200 stall converter installed in it as of right now

 

The exauast is a huge chokepoint, you need to ditch the factory cast iron manifold and tiny single pipe factory setup and get a good set of headders and a good exauast kit (or custom)

 

Ill do that as soon as i get the money they are charging me 1,400 for a full true dual from headers back
