Small debris in my crankcase
I was replacing the oil pan gasket on my 383 about 15 feet from my open garage door. I had spilled some oil on the driveway earlier and put down some sweeping compound on it. Then a gust of wind came and sprinkled it in my garage all the way to my engine as seen in pics.
do I need to tear it down AGAIN? or can I let it run for a few and let the filter catch it?

Re: Small debris in my crankcase
Just run it. The oil will wash it down into the pan and the filter will catch it. If you really want to be careful use an Amsoil filter that is less likely to cause the filter bypass to open when cold, etc.

Zackly...
Clean out what you can, don't sweat the rest. The filter will catch it.
Follow the normal break-in procedure. Don't get all paranoid about the clay.

Make sure the oil filter bypass is plugged or it will not capture all the debris and run a good fitler.
The guy in this link had a cam shaft go bad scaring up the journals of the crand if the bypass was plugged it would have saved the crank.
