TPI gas cap to carb gas cap

I had a TPI engine previously
Switched to a carb with a Pro star 500 fuel pump.

Was the TPI gas cap non-vented?
Do I now need a vented cap?

Re: TPI gas cap to carb gas cap

They will both be non-vented. The charcoal canister was implemented for both types of fuel systems. Evap systems were required by federal law since the early 70's. It hasn't been since before ~1971 that open fuel systems were using vented caps.
