Factory Ram Air(possibly Crossfire Breather)

I just found a complete very nice factory ram air system. Its complete and I believe it to be the stock set up from a cross fire car. My question is would I benefit from using that on my car, other than the cool factor of having the flap on my hood scoop open up when full throttled? It may be more trouble than its worth because my car runs fine and is far superior to the old factory cars.

What kind of set up do you have now? ....cold air is always nice... ....the "ram" won't really do much.

Older power buldge hoods on firebirds were operational in that they opened to let air in, but the opening on the power buldge ins't really in a position for ram effect. I would clean it up and sell it and use the money for better things but then again installing it can be cool also.

Re: Factory Ram Air(possibly Crossfire Breather)

Thanks for the info. I'm running a slayer quick fuel 750cfm carb now. The car runs great and I really have no complaints, but I was kinda thinking more of the cool factor with this set up. I was just curious if it would really benefit me or not. I remember back when I first started driving, a friend of mine had a 1982 TA with the cross fire motor. I remember riding in the car and seeing the flap open up on the scoop. Always thought it was cool.
