Cam Bearing Oil Hole Locations on an L98

I'm checking the camshaft bearing oil hole locations and am just trying to get all the info straight.

When we talk about 12 o'clock, we are talking about looking at the FRONT of the engine this would be as it sits normally in the engine bay of the car, correct? By "FRONT" of the engine we mean we are looking at it from the water pump end, not the distributor end, correct? Further, 12' o'clock is straight up as the engine as it mounts normally in the car (intake manifold up top). Then it goes clockwise from looking at the engine from the front end.

And, the #1 bearing is the one closest to the front of the engine? Then 2,3,4, and 5. #5 being at the back, at the distributor end.

So that being said, my factory manual is a bit confusing:

#1 has two holes and they go evenly spaced on either side of 6 o'clock
#2,3 , and 4 go "...must be positioned at 5 o'clock toward the left side of the engine and even with the bottom of the cylinder bore."
#5 goes at 12 o'clock.

Can I get confirmation that I have this correct and what does the manual mean by "left side" for bearings 2, 3, and 4? according to my understanding above, 5 o'clock would be the right side of the engine looking at it from the front.

While I'm not going to help with the specifics of the oiling hole locations, I can say that all references to left and right are from the drivers seat. NOT when facing the engine. Maybe that'll clear things up a little. If not, at least it'll bump your thread.

Thanks all. There's so much opinion on this out there. I must have read ten sites. All of them different.

I do it just like Alky's video shows, this oil feed location ensures the best wedge action. Make sure your hole is centered on the oil groove and, while optional, I always chamfer the feed holes on the bearing face. The only reason to locate them anywhere else is if your block doesn't have a 360 groove, then you're stuck.
