It might be best to find a 1982 Firebird Service Manual.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Wiring

Yeah that's ALOT of hand-holding and spoon-feeding. Nobody here is gonna be willing to deal with that, or able to figure out all your "what does this go to" kind of questions.

Best to just buy the factory service manual. They may charge for it like it's gold, but that's because IT IS. It's worth its weight in gold, every milligram of it, and is probably the best money you can possibly spend over the course of the entire project.

Re: Wiring

The service manuals are cheap
$13 with the shipping https://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Pontia...wAAOSwCg9eWstH
$25 with shipping https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-19...0AAOSwQjldiXOu
$12 with shipping https://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Pontia...EAAOSwsi5e2Exa

Search for all listings, do not buy the Haynes or Chiltons, they are far too generic
