Help!

I recently changed my stock carburator with a Holley.
I have a 5.7 L. stock engine and now when I hit my throttle about 3/4 of the way the engine lets out a loud noise something like WOOOOOO!? And doesn´t accelerate much! What may be the problem! I live in Estonia and there are not meny people here who can fix American cars!

P.S. My English sucks

Welcome aboard,
Your stock 5.7 motor is it computer controlled. If it is and your changed your stock carburetor for an aftermarket Holley, I doubt the Holley is Computer Controlled which will mess things up. Whether, or not that is pertaining to your individual problem I'm not sure. Of course I don't think any 5.7 came from the factory CC, so that may rule out my suggestion.

How big is the Holley in CFM? Also, what year is the car? The noise your hearing could just be the carb sucking air. If it dosent have any power at 3/4 throttle or more, the carb could be too big for the motor. Just a thought.

Well the car is 82 but I do not know the year of the engine, its suppose to be newer (I bought the car a few months ago). The carb is ment for a 5.0L engine. I tend to think it is a question of tuning only is it the air or the fuel.
