Disc to drums

You read that right baby! Disc to drums brakes. Why? Because I pulled a rear out of a 92 screaming chicken that had better gearing. Didn't have the calipers or the brackets. New calipers and brackets? Well. $400 doesn't sound as good as just using the drums I have.

So what all do I need to do? Just swap axles?

Re: Disc to drums

Drum brakes typically use a proportioning/combinaton valve with a residual pressure check valve for the drums' wheel cylinders. This is sometimes in the master cylinder itself, and should be evident in the front section it so equipped. The bias may also be different front-to-rear with the drums.

The car currently has drums. The new to me axle has disc. What do I need to do to swap the drums to the disc housing.
