speedo cable - Lube to use?

Speedo cable is squeaking when cold.
Now heading into winter, it's worse. I'm
doing some squeaking myself.
What is a good lubricant so I don't have
to do this again any time soon?

Re: speedo cable - Lube to use?

Last two I did I used grease with molybdenum. Pulled the cable out from the speedo end, smeared a thin coat of grease over entire cable, reinserted and no more squeaks.
