Hello fam! Just moved to Seattle and having some small but frustrating issues with my 89 Iroc that is preventing it from being a daily driver despite the condition of the engine. I am having problems finding a mechanic that can work or is willing to work on our favorite car here! Any suggestions from those in this area of a shop that will work on these or a specific mechanic, thank you!

 

What issues?

 

I had it detailed and upon picking it up, the trunk motor no longer worked and it would not start. I towed it to Lake City Autowerks and they replaced the starter and battery. Car ran great for a day and a half and then started trying to choke out when idle, shaking and eventually stalling when stopped and running. Stalled about 7 times driving back to Autowerks and they could not replicate problem. Picked it up, ran great for two days and did the same thing again. Now it is in my driveway and when starts it just struggles and eventually dies before I can get it going. I ran diagnostic tool and just continue to get 12.

 

Kinda sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Might be difficult to find someone to diagnose your car properly, but I bet a lot of shops would agree to do what you tell them. Assuming you have TPI, I'd hook a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve on the passenger side fuel rail and see what you get.
