Fuel leaking out of charcoal canister?
Fuel leaking out of charcoal canister?
Ok guys, so a new problem.emerged today on our project 85 T/A.
After replacing sections of all 3 fuel lines near the rear end...I am getting fuel leaking at the charcoal cannister.
Also getting alot of air when I remove the gas cap, I have a tank vent on order.
The emission system is mostly intact, air pump, vacuum lines everywhere....although it has a edelbrock carb.....one of the 2 lines was disconnected at the charcoal cannister.
Not sure if I ****ed something up, or I need a new tank vent or maybe even a vented gas cap.
Anyone have any input?

Something got messed up. Dont vent the gas cap unless you want highly explosive and smelly fumes constantly venting in an invisible cloud around your prized possession (the car).
The vent system for the gas tank IS the charcoal canister system. Start tracing lines and researching how that system works.

Re: Fuel leaking out of charcoal canister?
You likely swapped the return line and the CCP line. The return is at the bottom of the tank, with the CCP at the top of the tank. Swap them and pressure forces fuel into the CCP canister.

Juat swapped lines and that seems to have been the issue.
No more excessive pressure at gas cap and no more gas leaking out of charcoal canister!
Thanks guys!
