I just bought this 88 formula, that has a missing problem. I gave it a tune-up-oil change, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, and air filter. That seemed to make it better, but it still stumbles a little bit. I took it over to my grandparents and my grandpa got in, revved the engine, and told me it needed a fuel filter. So I did that. There is basically no change. Once in awhile, the accelerator feels like there is nothing there, and at low speeds, the engine hesitates.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to start next. The guy I bought it from said he changed all the sensors. Which I can believe, from changing every single sensor in my 87 'Bird. However the TPS in this 88 looks old...I was thinking (again based on my experience with the 87) that the TPS wouldn't hurt replacing. But I don't know where to start with this one. Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm afraid I know what some are going to say-Fuel Pump. Is there anything else I should try?

check your fuel pressure, and then start looking at the pick up coil and the rest of the distributor. I ended up replacing my dist for this particular little problem......
