Stalling 87 formula

Have an 87 formula 305 that stalls
4brl carb, automatic
Stalls on startup, especially when cold. Have to modulate throttle to keep going.
stalls coming to a stop too quickly
stalls going down hill unless given gas
stalls shifting into reverse and on occasion drive.
stalls when foot comes of gas when rolling.
what do I neeed to do?
Bought new carb with the car.
removed corroded vaccume lines
Is it those? Is it fuel pump? Is it ignition module?
I often need to give it a good kick of gas to fire

Re: Stalling 87 formula

Probably carb needs cleaned and adjusted.Do you know if the "CCC"system(electronic feedback carb/distributor timing) is still operable? "check engine" light should come on with ignition and go out shortly after engine starts. If original type carb and distributor are still in place and CCC not working, engine will run but will be overly rich with lumpy idle and stalling at times. Probably not ignition or fuel pump related.

interesting, I don’t get any check engine lights.
that is a lot what it runs like though. I’m pretty sure the oen distributor is there, i believe it was replaced at some point. The carb was brand new when I installed it, but the previous carb the engine was already doing the thing.
how can I check/test the CCC system and fix this?
