Egr temperature control switch
Egr temperature control switch
I need some help....I was doing some troubleshooting on my 86 IROCZ'S code 32 and learned that my temperature control switch was bad. I ordered the corvette one and extended the wire. As I was screwing it into the base of the EGR valve, the round threaded cylinder on the base where the switch screws into broke! I was able to get the screw part out of the base of the EGR but my dilemma is where do I find another one? Even if I purchase a new EGR valve that piece doesn't come with it?

I'm not super familiar of the earlier tpi egr's. Can you show picture? Was this one using a bushing to make it work?

Re: Egr temperature control switch
My factory EGR valve and the replacement I recently installed didn't have that adaptor, the temp sensor just threaded right into the EGR base. I just checked RockAuto and they list 2 different EGR valves. One like yours with the smaller threaded hole (but don't show an adapter) and another one with the larger threaded hole like factory. I would just buy the new EGR valve with the larger hole and omit the adapter.
