Wipers

Wipers weren't working after sitting up for a year or so,turn them on at the switch,got out and bumped the blade arms started working,is there a trick I can use to keep them moving,or a switch issue? 91 rs

It's just an old crude DC motor with a commutator and brushes and all that. Very Stone Age. What you describe is a VERY common failure mode for those.

Sounds like most likely, the brushes and commutator got corroded up where they were sitting together, and made a "flat spot" in the motor.

Do what Komet suggested: grease the joints in the transmission real good and just run it. If all it was is some corrosion, just running it for awhile may well clean it off to where it doesn't ever do it again.
