removing smog pump

apart from plugging the holes in the headers and cat and re-routing the fan belt is there anything else I need to do?
Any problems with the ecm or do I just unplug the diverter (headers to cat)

you can remove the vanes from the inside of the pump

and put it back on.. no need to reroute fan belt.

No your ECM will be fine, it will not know it's gone so it will not throw a code or anything.

yep thats it, but dont expect a big gain. It really cleans out the engine bay though.

I removed mine, knowing that it was not going to give me any great increase in HP or MPG, but it did help the engine compartment tremendously. You can actually look in & see something besides hoses & tubing!

Do I understand this correctly.I can just take all that stuff off and it will not effect the cars performance? I am rebuilding my engine and would love to get rid of all that junk. If thats the case my headers would not have to have the air tubes.
