Carb vs. TPI Part 2 of 2
..I'm not gonna do anything too drastic (ie. supercharge it) but it will get the usual works including fuel system upgrade . i'm looking at a 305 w/ 5sp or seeing as they are rare a 350 with auto

Is there a question here? 350s aren't that rare, just a little more expensive. I'd saying finding a 5spd 305 and 350 are about the same.
well, no, if it is a TPI 5 spd then it is harder to find then the 350....it seems that alot of people bought 5 spd with eaker engine because they could not afford the H.O engine or an Auto...alos of cars like this also have no options....but TPI 5 speed loaded with options are hard to find too because some of the people who bought TPI 5 speeds wanted them for performance. But my 87 IROC TPI 5 spd is a car ;like my father and I would have ordered....Top of the line engine(for a 5 spd) and a 5spd loaded with options...great street machine and the fun of a 5 spd with power behind it(remember I am talking in 1980s terms here) I can't seem to find another loaded 5 spd TPI.....my convert i loaded but it is an auto(soon to be made a 5 spd tho

this post was originally part 2 of a 2 parter.. but i don't think everyone got that..
Mark: a 350 with a 5 sp was never offered on IROCs... and 305's with 5 sp are pretty rare to come across (for me anywayz)
Camaro6sp: a 350 with a 5sp was never offered.. the L98 was ALWAYS mated to a 700R4... that's why i'll settle for the 305.. the options were never a problem with me.. as far as i'm concerned, that means less unsprung weight

its pretty easy and cheap to swap a 5spd into fbodies not orginally equiped.
5spd fbodies are fairly easy to find, they made many.
Your correct in that a 5spd was never offered with a 350, but there is nuthing keeping you from swapping one in.
Also, i'll repeat, DO NOT get a TBI car... lol they really blew *** hehee
